road trip. peace out.

Hopefully in the next 30 minutes Ashlee and I will be leaving on our mini road trip! We'll be gone through next Thursday so posting on here will probably not happen. We are going to a friend's wedding near Portland, to a baby shower in Portland and then going to Seattle for the rest of next week. It will be so much fun to see all my besties.

Please be praying for safe travel for us. It is supposed to rain on a couple of our driving days.

Love you all. Be safe. Have fun.

Music Monday: Britt Nicole

I love this girl. Her music is so powerful and she is such a fantastic role model. I can't get enough of her music! You have to wait for her mini explanation on this before the actual music video starts, but it is worth the wait.

If you have time search on youtube for "Britt Nicole, Walk on the Water story behind the song". I wanted to post that too, but the code is disabled. So check it out for yourself. :)

The Big Bang Theory

OMG! I am so excited you guys! When we were in Whistler back in January, Janelle brought The Big Bang Theory to watch. I hadn't really watched it before. I loved it, but haven't seen it since. We finally got the first disk from Netflix! I'm excited to see ALL of them!

six months

That is how long it has been since I moved back to Idaho. Can you believe it?!?

On November 20, 2009 Ashlee and I loaded up our car and started the 872 mile trek back to Idaho. That was quite the day. I don't think I ever wrote about it on here. It was an incredibly, horrible day of epic proportions.

We struggling to smash everything in the car along with Blizzard & Archibald because our pod with everything else was already gone. It was so hard to say goodbye to Jenny. I tried not to actually think about it because it was too sad to have to deal with. I still don't think I've really dealt with it. How do you say goodbye to your best friend?

After a late start, Blizzard meowing for three hours non-stop and a cat potty stop I thought things were looking up, but they got progressively worse.

Because it is such a long story let me summarize as best as I can. We had to deal with stinky cat poop and cat vom in cramped quarters on the side of the road multiple times. Three different people stopped, including a cop to see if we were okay.

Then if it wasn't cat related, it was the weather. The wind in Nevada was terribly insane. It was so bad that it picked up a mattress on the side of the road and blew it towards our car. I sped up and luckily it flew right over. The dust was so bad that at times we couldn't see more than three feet in front of us. As we neared Oregon it began to rain and snow.

Then we almost hit, what we think was a bobcat, that was standing in the middle of the road. I missed it with my amazing swerving skills.

Idaho couldn't have come soon enough. Fortunately we made it safely home. I kept thinking that the day really couldn't get any worse, but it progressively did. Luckily we had a sense of humor and really, what other choice did we have, but to keep going?

I still can't quite believe I'm here. It is all just so strange to me. Am I really going to turn 25 in 2 months? Did I really graduate from high school 7 years ago and from college 3 years ago? Did I really live in California for 2 and a half years? What the heck am I supposed to do now?

If I have learned anything from my experiences it is that life NEVER goes exactly how you plan. And it really is okay. On May 31st it will be a year since I left my internship church, which was also the last time I had a full time job.

Does it suck not having any income and being thousands in debt? Does it suck not knowing what you want to do with your life? Yes, but its okay. Wanna know why?
Because I am in God's will and there is no other place I would rather be.

I am exactly where I am supposed to be. Even if I am jobless. Even if I am living with my parents. Even if I am flat broke. Even if I miss California. Even if I miss my besties in Seattle. Right here is okay.

I know God has brought me here, to this very moment. He has provided me with everything I need up to now and He will continue to provide for me. I don't know what the future holds for me, but I'm not going to worry about it.

It will be okay.

I will be okay.

Write your plans in pencil and give God the eraser.

Plan to be surprised.

you're my cuppy cake

Cupcakes are some of my favorite treats! Mostly for the frosting! I think my very favorites are rainbow chip cupcakes and of course, Curtis Stone's brownie cupcakes.

These cupcakes are almost too cute to eat! Be sure to eat sweets in moderation. You don't want to spoil your dinner or get a tummy ache. :D

What is your favorite kind of cupcake?

Music Monday: HoneyHoney

Last August, Jenny, Ashlee and I had the privilege of seeing HoneyHoney open for Lenka at a show at the Gap at the Grove in Los Angeles. We had never heard them before and were blown away with their awesomeness.

Ben (left) Suzanne (middle)

In March, Ben and Suzanne of HoneyHoney, tweeted about going to SXSW and asked if their fans would send them mixed cds for their trip because their ipod adapter was broken. So Ashlee and I made them mixes and sent them. My mix included I'll Make a Man Out of You, from Mulan and The Climb, by Miley Cyrus. :D Mine is the purple one and Ashlee's is the green one.

I also made them a card. While cutting out pictures I stumbled across an old Anthropologie catalog with none other than HoneyHoney in it! So I ended up making the card from that catalog. Those are Ben and Suzanne's feet on the right!

By April I had almost forgot that we sent them the card and cds. So I was surprised when I got a package from HoneyHoney! They have rad decorating skills! :)

Inside was a signed mix cd from Ben and Suzanne! I think it is so rad that they took the time to send this to Ashlee and I. Thanks HoneyHoney! You rock!

Here is their video: Little Toy Gun

Fashion Friday: Legs!

My darlings! It is Friday! I know some people are done with school, some have graduated from school, some are going to prom, some are working on finals, some are bringing home babies. So much is going on! I hope you are all having a beautiful week.

The sunshine is out today and I am LOVING it! I said on Wednesday that because I wasn't working today I would dress up and I have. I'm wearing one of my favorite Forever21 strapless floral dresses and a long cardigan. My legs are so grateful for the freedom from the stupid jeans I have been wearing lately.

One of my favorite fashion trends when it is Spring and Summer is LEGS! With or without tights for that matter. I don't know about you, but mine are ready for some sunshine! I am looking forward to wearing more shorts, skirts, dresses and hopefully swimsuits.

my friday!

Hello lovelies! Today is my Friday and I am thrilled! I think I will appreciate my time off even more than I had previously. Working in a warehouse is completely exhausting. None of the work was particularly difficult, but I was always standing, moving or lifting. It sounds like I am off for about a month or until whenever fire season begins. I want to set some goals and get a lot accomplished before I am working 50 hour weeks!

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday tomorrow and a beautiful weekend!

Congratulations to Eric, who graduates tomorrow and to Kristin, who graduates Saturday! I'm so proud of both of you!
