a shot in the dark

this is so adorable. it makes me gag.

lost things

Just call me a copy cat. Lately, Ashlee and I have had a number of similar posts. I guess it is because we spend so much time together and do a lot of the same things. She must have read my mind after I saw this on James' blog. Well, great minds think alike, right? Anyway, check out this lovely video.

7 fav tv shows

These are some of my favorite shows to watch. They are definitely worth rotting your brain for.

Big Bang Theory

"Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur. Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr, purr."

The Office

"I love inside jokes. I'd love to be a part of one someday."

Arrested Development

"There is always money in the banana stand!"

The Closer

"Thank you. Thank you so much."

Tony: "Gibbs has given you a mission. Just do what you do best." Abby: "Dance?"

"I can't go with you because that would make me the devil."

"I will see you again after I save his life. Have a warm bath waiting."

better late than never

Here are pictures from mine and Ashlee's trip to Seattle/Whistler for Jenny's 25th birthday, January 21st-25th. It was great to be united with friends and see Vancouver/Whistler before the Olympics started.

My sister, Ashlee is an amazing photographer, studying to get her Masters in Photography. I helped her with two of her assignments last week and was her model. The assignments were basically the same for both classes, showing her take on the RGB color model. I love how these turned out. Her profs gave her major props for these!

This picture was another from the same shoot. I absolutely love it.

To be commanded to love God at all, let alone in the wilderness, is like being commanded to be well when we are sick, to sing for joy when we are dying of thirst, to run when our legs are broken. But this is the first and greatest commandment nonetheless. Even in the wilderness-especially in the wilderness-you shall love him.

I started crocheting these little creatures in December, first with a ninja (4 1/2" tall) and then an alien (3" tall). Last weekend, Ashlee and I crocheted the bunny and robot (both 9" tall). I love them so much and think they are adorable.

Un-Valentine's Post

borrowed from miss ashlee and miss jenny's blogs.

My Lord God
I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.
Nor do I really know myself,
and the fact that I think I am following
your will does not mean
that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that my desire to please you
does in fact please you.
And I hope that I have that desire
in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything
apart from that desire.
And I know that if I do this
you will lead me by the right road
though I may know nothing about it.
Therefore will I trust you always
though I may seem to be lost
and in the shadow of death.
I will not fear,
for you are ever with me,
and you will never leave me
to face my perils alone.

LA Love

This is from Jenny's blog. I couldn't have said this better.

Wednesday, February 10, 2010
Ashlee said it best tonight on Twitter. I miss LA. I miss it like an ex-boyfriend. We broke up but I still love him. Heartbroken.

I could never explain what it felt like before!!! I know I left LA of my own accord so it was my decision, but I will always love it and miss it a little. Its just like a boyfriend who you know isn't right for you and the relationship isn't going anywhere so you break up, but you still have feelings for him. LA is my ex-boyfriend who I will always wish it could have worked out witg, but I will cherish the times we had together, and look forward to what's to ahead. I love you LA and all your craziness.

The Ramen Girl

The other night I crawled into bed early and watched The Ramen Girl on Netflix. I was pleasantly surprised, maybe because in some ways I identified with Brittany Murphy's character, Abby.

At one point she is sobbing in a ramen shop about being 4 years out of college with nothing to show for it. That is exactly how I feel. She said, "Somewhere along the way I just forgot what I wanted to do with my life... "

I am feeling very lost and confused right now. I know that God has my future in His hands, but everything is so unclear. Monday really broke my spirit. Ashlee and I went down to unemployment where I was rejected from receiving Idaho unemployment. I need to call California, but I might not qualify because I may not have made enough in the last quarter. WHICH IS WHY I NEED UNEMPLOYMENT! I don't totally understand it all and there is a chance I can still receive it, but needless to say, it is quite discouraging.

I am jobless, with no prospects.
I am drowning in debt, with no income.

I know this is only temporary, but in the moment this feels all-consuming and rather hopeless. I'm praying and hoping for a change of events, like Abby had in the movie, where she finds something she is passionate about and can put her heart into.

Or at least a job to pay the bills.

Music Monday: Owl City-Vanilla Twilight

Vanilla Twilight has to be one of my favorite Owl City songs. I was blown away when I saw what Arian and Daniel created for the Owl City "Vanilla Twilight" Video Contest. Go here to vote for it!

created to create

To be honest, I am very self concious of sharing my so-called "art." I would not call myself an artist because I don't really feel like one. However, I do love to create things, whether that is with magazines and glue or canvases and paint. Below are my newest creations. The first two pictures are from December. I had the song, Jordan's Stormy Banks, stuck in my head for weeks, so I made this using my old inks from high school. The next four paintings are word art that I made over the past two days. They were simple, fun and messy to make. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did creating them.
