Three years ago today my Grandpa passed away. I miss him a lot. He was an amazing man, who loved the Lord and his family with all his heart. You would have liked him.

"We never own the people in our lives. We love them, but they are on loan from God. We have them for a moment and then they're gone." Karen Kingsbury, Reunion

Abide with me fast falls the eventide
The darkness deepens Lord with me abide
When other helpers fail and comforts flee
Help of the helpless O abide with me.

Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day
Earth's joys grow dim its glories pass away
Change and decay in all around I see
O thou who changest not abide with me

I need thy presence every passing hour
What but thy grace can foil the tempter's power
Who like thyself my guide and stay can be
Through cloud and sunshine Lord abide with me

I fear no foe with thee at hand to bless
Ills have no weight and tears no bitterness
Where is death's sting Where grave thy victory
I triumph still if thou abide with me

Hold thou thy cross before my closing eyes
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies
Heaven's morning breaks and earth's vain shadows flee
In life in death O Lord abide with me

I'm but a stranger here
Heaven is my home
Earth is a desert drear
Heaven is my home
Danger and sorrow stand
Round me on every hand
Heaven is my fatherland
Heaven is my home

What though the tempest rage
Heaven is my home
Short is my pilgrimage
Heaven is my home
And time's wintry blast
Soon shall be over past
I shall reach home at last
Heaven is my home

Therefore I murmur not
Heaven is my home
Whatever my earthly lot
Heaven is my home
And I shall surely stand
There at my Lord's right hand
Heaven is my fatherland
Heaven is my home
